Wide benefits of peptides: small molecules, great effect Posted by Medtech FDA | 510 (K), PMA, I -III devices, Amnesty International July, 2025
Peptides – small chains of amino acids – may be small in size, but their potential to influence human health and their performance is enormous. With the growing scientific understanding of peptides, as well as their presence in medical treatments, skin care, fitness and even longevity research. From accelerating healing to promoting cognitive performance, peptides prove that it is one of the most exciting tools in modern wellness and medicine.
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, usually consisting of 2 to 50 amino acids. While proteins (such as insulin or collagen) are made of long chains of building blocks, peptides are smaller and more targeted, and the body often absorbs them more easily.
The bodies produced by the body are naturally produced, and they play basic roles in almost every biological function – including hormone production, immune responses, tissue repair, and cellular signals. Synthetic peptides, designed to imitate or enhance these natural processes, are now used through a wide range of disciplines.
