Survival of triple-negative and BRCA1-negative breast cancer
For everyone facing the most difficult periods of downtime in life
Sitting in the chemotherapy chair reminds me of the good old lecture days. I have my favorite seat and some regular teammates that I see. Only this time, I looked to my left and right, most of them were in their fifties or older, and I wondered:
“How are you?”
I didn’t ask them. It’s a difficult question to answer, as we oscillate between sharing too much and too little. A special challenge on a tough day like this.
I assumed their answers would be like mine, in short, not great.
The typical response to this is “rest more, feel better soon,” which is something I get frustrated hearing or saying whenever I think about taking it a step further.
Because all chemotherapy patients know that fatigue will not go away with more rest.
It is renewed e̶n̶e̶r̶g̶y̶ fatigue at its best.
I felt very tired, so I signed up for this course to escape the endless, tiring cycle – 5-unit Cancer Survival Course.
