Stop being expected from people
Your morals are yours. You have been shaped by your experiences, your pain, your values, and the choices that make you who you are. But the moment you start expecting people to think, act, or believe like you – you stop understanding them.
Each person’s sense of right and wrong is filtered through their own reality. What seems obvious to you may not even register with someone else. This doesn’t make you better, nor does it make them worse – it just means they live from a different understanding.
You can’t control how people move, what they choose, or how they define respect, love, or loyalty. What you can control is how you respond when their morals don’t match yours. Sometimes this means quietly walking away instead of trying to prove your point. Sometimes, that means accepting the fact that not everyone will do what you would do, and that’s okay.
Trying to force people to follow your version of the truth only leads to frustration. Understanding that everyone’s moral compass points differently gives you peace. It frees you from disappointment and teaches you where to put your energy – with acceptance, not control.
