Not only diabetes: How the blood sugar level increases slightly in the sexual health of men

The metabolic health factors, including small increases in blood sugar, are the main engines of change in reproductive systems and sexual performance of elderly men, according to a study presented in Indo 2025, the annual meeting of the Endocrine Association in San Francisco, California.

“Although the levels of age and testosterone have long been a driving force for the sexual health of men, our research indicates that these changes are closely related to modest increases in blood sugar and other metabolic changes.” “This means that men can take steps to maintain their reproductive health or revive them through lifestyle options and appropriate medical interventions.”

These conclusions follow a long -term study of healthy men (without diabetes, heart disease and/or cancer) ranging from the ages of 18 and 85, which started in 2014 with 200 participants and concluded in 2020 with 117 participants. The researchers studied the gradual changes in the semen of the participants and hormonal features, erection and metabolic health (body mass index and blood sugar levels that feature HBA1C test).

The results indicated that over time the hormone levels and semen parameters remain largely in the natural domains. However, sperm movement and erectile dysfunction decreased in men with high blood sugar levels that were less than 6.5 % HBA1C. The study also found that although testosterone levels did not have a direct impact on an erection function, it is linked to assessing the sexual desire of the participants.

“We hope that the information collected from this study will help doctors and patients to formulate effective male sexual health maintenance plans.” “We now know that we can maintain the luxury of citizenship and reproductive in men, even with age.”

This research was conducted as part of the study of fame 2.0.
