Laps resembling dementia in cells before cancer

The research was published on August 15 in the magazine Development cellAnd funded by Cancer Research UK, with additional support from Wellcome, the Personal Research Council, and the Biological Science and Biotechnology Research Council.

The researchers from the UK Cancer Research Center in Scotland studied the pancreas cells in mice over time, to find out what caused healthy cells to transform into cancer cells. They discovered that the pancreatic cells are at risk of becoming cancerous, known as cancer before cancer, the evolution of errors in the cell recycling process (known as “self -pharaoh”).

In the previous cancer cells, the researchers noticed excessive “protein” particles that make up groups – behavior in neurological diseases such as dementia. The researchers also noticed a similar assembly that occurs in the samples of the human pancreas, indicating that this happens during the development of pancreatic cancer.

“Our research shows the potential role of self -pharaoh playing in the beginnings of the pancreas of its cancer,” said a UK’s cancer colleague at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer at Edinburgh University. Professor Simon Wilkenson.

Although survival has improved in many types of cancer over recent decades, this was not the case for pancreatic cancer. Multiple types of cancer, including pancreatic cancer, are associated with a wrong boom in a gene called KRAS, but scientists are increasingly learning that genetic changes are not the entire story.

One of the ways in which the cells keep in good health is to destroy excess molecules that they no longer need, through the recycling process called “self -pharaoh”. Self -bonus is of particular importance in the pancreas to control the level of digestive proteins and hormones produced by the pancreas to help break the food.

Scientists have studied self -pharaoh in detail over many years and learn the main role they play in diseases such as cancer. In some cases, cancer cells can become “addicted” on self -pharaoh, kidnapping the recycling process to help cancer cells divide and grow more quickly.

This research, on the other hand, indicates that the joint effect of the defective chairs and the stalled self -grade can lead to the development of pancreatic cancer. Researchers are planning to study these operations in more detail, to see if they can help predict or may reflect the beginning of pancreatic cancer, and if factors such as age, sex or diet play a role.
