Listen: Federal law authorizes patients for immediate translators if they do not have a strong understanding of the English language. KFF Health News Vanesa G. Sánchez appeared in “Health Hub” in WAMU on July 9 to explain the reason for leaving some Trump management policies patients are afraid of requesting language services.
Patients need to communicate clearly with the health care provider. But this is more difficult for those in the United States who do not speak English.
The budget cuts were left by the Trump administration, some service providers are scrambling to preserve the qualified immediate translators. An executive command to appoint the English language, the official language of the United States has created a confusion among service providers on services to be provided.
Patients who do not speak English are afraid, and perhaps at risk of medical errors. What happens when those who need a very afraid help from the question?
