Let me start saying this: I did not plan it. It has just happened.
It was Sunday evening when I went out to pick up something and realized that I did not get the soles. But instead of returning to wearing it, I thought, “Why not?” That moment started a strange but amazing experience-one week of totally barefoot.
The first day: confused looks and embarrassing steps
The first day was strange. I felt my feet was exposed, and I was a prisoner like a young child learning how to balance. People stared, some laughed quietly, and asked some of them, “Are you okay?” I just smiled and kept moving.
The Earth felt rough, hot, cold, and sometimes painful. Each stone was like a small punishment. This was the moment when I started doubting and I am thinking that I made a wrong decision, but a kind of soul in myself has a shadow telling me that I should not give up
The second day: feeling the land
By the second day, I noticed something different. I started to feel the ground. Not only pain – but the texture. The smoothness of the tiles in my house, the warmth of the sand outside, and the cold of the shaded concrete.
