I tried to take a cold shower for a month – here I learned Written by Lizi T Biblical words August 2025
I never imagined that I would be a kind of person who would voluntarily go to freeze water every morning. For most of my life, the shower was sacred, the small daily refuge of comfort, heat and steam.
They were where I kept long, as my thoughts eased, as the fog mirror became part of a daily start ritual. However, one morning not long ago, curiosity has become better than me.
I was reading scattered novels for people who divide the benefits of cold shower: energy improvement, brighter mood, clearer skin, even a more flexible immune system.
Athletes claimed to recover faster, and the Boachon talked about better focus, and psychologists suggested that there is something about the shock of cold water that built mental hardness. I couldn’t get rid of the idea that there may be something worth testing.
So I made a decision. For thirty days, I was completely leaving hot shower. No warm compromise, do not fade cute in temperature. Just turn the handle along the way to the cold and enter.
It looked almost ridiculous at first – such a small shift, just water at a different temperature – but this was the point. If something very small can make such large claims, I wanted to know myself.
