Not exactly news that the health care system in our nation is only a “system” in the most generous sense of the word and that there is no truly responsible entity. Nevertheless, there are some specific responsibilities that belong to the federal government, others belonging to the states, and are still jointly among them. Sometimes people and programs fall through cracks.

Speaking to a direct audience on June 23 at ASPEN IDEAS: Health in Colorado, three former rulers – one of them also discussed the position of Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Humanitarian Services – what is required to make the country’s health care system more smooth.

The session, which was moderated by KFF Health News’ Julie Rovner, Democrat Kathleen Sebilius, a former governor of Kansas and HHS during the era of President Barack Obama; Republican Chris Sonono, former governor of New Hampsuire; Democratic Roy Cooper, former governor of Nortaq Carolina.

Among the fast food from the discussion:

  • The states – and the conservatives who lead them – are “major customers” of the Federal Health System. For example, the states run research universities with the help of federal scholarships from the National Institutes of Health. Countries also run the Medicaid program, which is the joint program of the state, for those who suffer from low income and disability, through which most nation’s care is funded for issues such as mental health and drug abuse disorders. In fact, most federal funds sent to the states are for medicaid.
  • The discounts in Medicaid shown in the publications of the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Law of the Bill of President Donald Trump, the Great, would leave a major hole in the state budgets – the states, which already face budget restrictions, cannot fill without making difficult choices. It is worth noting that the draft law does not make fundamental discounts for medical care, a program that has a great deal of excessive spending and is expected to be insolvent during a decade.
  • The control of healthcare costs is a great concern for the future of the country’s health care system, as well as maintaining the workforce of health care. More people without insurance coverage means high total costs. Attractive exhaustion, immigration raids, and even the cost of the kidney put pressure on the darker workforce. The federal government can do more to encourage medical professionals to go to primary care and rural health care.
