Global warming-long-term increase in the average Earth’s temperature due to greenhouse gas emissions-is one of the most dangerous challenges facing humanity. Its consequences extend beyond environmental and economic systems, which greatly affects human health. Among the most vulnerable children, whose physical and cognitive development is highly dependent on stable environmental conditions. This article explores how global warming affects the health of the child, what are the risks, and why is there an urgent work.

Why children are especially at risk

Several factors that make children especially vulnerable to the health effects of climate change compared to adults:

  1. Development of immune bodies and systemsChildren, immune systems, and thermal regulations are still developing, making them less able to adapt to stress, such as heat, pollutants or malnutrition.
  2. Top exposure to each body weightChildren breathe more air, drink more water, and consume more food for each unit of body weight more than adults. Therefore, they receive a relative dose higher than any pollutant, pathogens, or toxic exposure.
  3. Life for a longer periodIt occurs early on exposure to life, and the more years of the years (such as chronic diseases or development effects) …
