Bad sleep accelerates the aging of the brain and may raise the danger of dementia

People who sleep badly are more likely than others have brains that look older than they are already. This is according to a comprehensive study of brain photography from the Carolinska Institute, published in the magazine ebiomedicine. Weak sleep is linked to dementia, but it is not clear whether unhealthy sleep habits contribute to the development of dementia or whether they are early symptoms of the disease.
